Kate Grindley, Swimming Teacher & Assistant Coach
Kate has been a competitive swimmer for eight years, first with Shrewsbury ASC and later with Cardiff Metropolitan University. She was a Regional Level swimmer for three years and competed at English Nationals in 2015.
Kate moved to Cardiff in 2015 to start her degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She graduated with a 2:1 from Cardiff Metropolitan University in July 2018.
Whilst in Cardiff, Kate was part of the university swimming team for three years, competing for them and becoming Captain in her second year.
Kate has been a qualified swimming teacher for five years and has been coaching and teaching swimming at Shrewsbury ASC since the age of 14. She has taught in Cardiff for two different swim schools alongside private swimming lessons as a self-employed swimming teacher. She is an ASA qualified Level 2 Swimming Teacher and Level 1 Coach.
In September Kate will be going to the University of Wolverhampton to complete her one-year teaching training PGCE with the intention of becoming a PE teacher.
